A New Chapter: Reflections on Moving

There’s something inherently transformative about moving.

Whether it’s across town or across the country, packing up your life into cardboard boxes has a way of making you reflect. Every item you touch carries a memory: that coffee mug you always reach for, the stack of books you've meant to read, the photo frame that sat on your nightstand. As I’ve been sorting, wrapping, purging and—let’s be honest—occasionally questioning why I own so many things, I’ve realized just how much we attach our identities to the spaces we live in.

But now, it's time for a new space—and a new chapter.

The process hasn't been easy. Moving never is. It’s physically tiring, emotionally draining, and logistically chaotic. There were moments of excitement, and others of frustration (especially when you are living out of boxes). But in between the bubble wrap and backaches, there's also been a quiet sense of anticipation. Of possibility.

Change is hard, even when it’s good. But growth rarely happens in the comfort zone. And this move, for me, is about growth. It’s about stepping into something unfamiliar, embracing uncertainty, and making space for something new—literally and figuratively.

I don’t know exactly what’s ahead. That’s part of the adventure. But I’m walking forward with gratitude for what I’m leaving behind, and curiosity for what’s to come.

To anyone else who’s in the middle of a move—or any big transition—you’re not alone. Remember to breathe. Stay hydrated.

Here’s to new beginnings.
