My Soft Girl Era

The sun peeked out today, which was such a welcome shift after yesterday’s dark, thunderstormy mood. My cats have been basking in the warmth, sunning themselves like royalty and giving me the cutest eye kisses during my photoshoots. It’s a small joy, but it’s those little things I’m learning to treasure lately.

I’ve been in my soft girl era—intentionally slowing down, romanticizing the everyday, and working on my self-care routine. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. One of the first habits I’ve been focusing on? Drinking more water. My trick: romanticizing it. It might sound silly, but adding lemon slices or fresh fruit into a pretty glass makes the moment feel like a little ritual. It’s not just hydration—it’s self-love in a glass. Now, I actually look forward to my lemon 🍋 or strawberry water 🍓

This era of my life is all about intention. I’m learning to be gentle with myself—something I didn’t allow much room for in my 20s. Back then, I was deep in hustle mode. I worked so hard I lost sight of who I was, and I burned out. I didn’t love my life, and I certainly didn’t feel aligned with it.

Now that I’m in my 30s, I don’t have all the answers—but I’m no longer lost. I’m heading in a direction that feels right. I’m following my heart, not expectations. I’m defining success on my own terms—where peace, happiness, and authenticity come first.

I recently saw a quote on Pinterest that stopped me in my tracks: “If it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive.” That one really hit home. I still want to be ambitious. I still want to be productive. But I no longer feel the need to be a girl boss 24/7. It’s okay to enjoy the ride. To slow down. To chase the dream with softness instead of burnout.

Today’s Fit

I’m wearing the Vivienne midi dress today—the final contender for my upcoming dinner cruise. The soft pink is romantic, and the sporty material makes it so comfortable. I think I’ll pair it with my go-to white Birkenstocks. For accessories, I added a delicate necklace that belonged to my grandmother and a pair of lovely pearl earrings. It adds a vintage, dreamy touch to the whole look.

Style Tips

This dress is surprisingly versatile. Here’s how I’d style it for different vibes:

  • Bachelorette party or brunch with the girls: Pair it with a light-wash denim jacket—bonus points if it has pearl embellishments—or a cropped white one for a fresh contrast.

  • Beach day: Keep it simple. Just throw it on with some comfy flip-flops. The dress speaks for itself.

  • Shopping spree with your mom: Add a cute beaded purse to elevate the outfit while keeping things playful and sweet.

This is the era where I’m rediscovering myself. The happy me. The soft, fun, radiant me. Wherever you are in your life, I hope you’re finding peace, joy, and beauty along the way. You deserve to feel pretty and present. Life is too short not to love the version of yourself you’re becoming.
