My Style Philosophy

Lately, I’ve been thinking about why I gravitate toward the pieces I do—and how comfort has become such a constant in the way I dress. For this post, I wanted to share a bit more about that philosophy. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably already sense it: every outfit I share is built around ease—starting with what’s on my feet. Footwear sets the tone for how I move through the day, and for me, it’s never been worth sacrificing comfort to feel stylish. The challenge—and the joy—comes from finding that quiet balance between the two.

My style philosophy is simple and consistent: take easy, low-maintenance pieces and turn them into something put-together and elevated. The key? Blending casual staples—like sneakers or sandals—with thoughtful outfit choices that bring polish without the pressure.

Comfort has quietly become the foundation of everything I wear. For me, style isn’t just about following trends or chasing perfection. Trends are one of the things I love most about fashion—but my preference for relaxed, easy pieces pushes me to find a balance between what’s current and what feels true to me. It’s about creating a sense of ease, a rhythm to my wardrobe that lets me feel like myself wherever I go. And more often than not, that sense of ease begins with the textures I choose, the way the clothes move with me, and the shoes that carry me through the day.

This week’s look is the perfect example of that balance I’m always chasing: a two-piece crochet set that feels both luxurious and completely lived-in.

There’s something about crochet that instantly adds interest to an outfit without being loud. It has personality. Texture. And when done right, it feels both nostalgic and modern—something your grandmother may have worn, but reimagined for right now.

This set in particular is one of my summer favorites. The tank top hits just right, while the midi-length skirt skims the body in a way that’s breezy, not clingy. Together, it creates a silhouette that’s unfussy but intentional. I love that I can wear the full set for a pulled-together look or break it up and style each piece with something simpler—like a white oversized tee or wide-leg linen pants.

I styled this set with sandals in white—nothing too bold, but enough polish to feel like a look. I also love how this outfit works with flip flops or even simple beige sneakers if I’m walking more that day. The beauty of the crochet is that it doesn’t demand heels or overstyling. It holds its own.

This outfit is more than just something cute to wear—it’s a reflection of how I want to feel in my clothes. Relaxed but thoughtful. Comfortable but elevated. I’ve learned that when I start with comfort as my baseline, everything else falls into place more naturally. I don’t have to force the glam—it just shows up in the details.

So if you’re building your Summer wardrobe and wondering how to balance ease with intention, start with texture, comfort, and one outfit that feels like you. Everything else is just styling. 🤍
