A Slow Morning with Matcha & Mindfulness 🌿☀️

There’s something magical about mornings when you don’t have to rush—when the world feels quiet, and the light filters through your windows just right. Today was one of those mornings, and I leaned into it fully with a soft, intentional routine that reminded me of all the simple things I love most.

I started the day by slipping into my cozy KatyDid flower slippers, a pair I discovered at a charming little boutique in Charleston last spring. They’re cheerful, soft, and have this way of instantly making my morning feel a little brighter. It’s the kind of comfort that invites you to slow down.

With slippers on and sunlight pouring in, I curled up on the couch next to one of my favorite coffee table staples—The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur. I originally placed it there because I fell in love with the cover (it’s just so beautiful and calming), but it’s more than just decor. I like having it close by as a quiet reminder of Rupi's poetry—raw, emotional, and deeply empowering.

My outfit today matched the calm, effortless energy of the morning—simple but with a few personal touches I love. I wore a navy tank top and my favorite jeans, paired with a swipe of lip gloss for just a hint of glow. To top it off, I threw on my “Life Is Good” turtle baseball cap, which adds a playful, feel-good vibe to even the simplest look. It’s one of those pieces that just makes you smile.

Before heading out, I spent a few minutes with my current skincare routine, which has been all Honest Beauty. Clean, nourishing, and gentle on my skin—it’s become a non-negotiable part of my mornings. There’s something really grounding about taking those few extra moments to care for yourself.

Feeling refreshed and pulled together, I went to my favorite local café and treated myself to an iced matcha latte. There’s just something about sipping matcha on a warm morning, watching the world go by, that feels like a little gift to yourself.

Mornings like this are a gentle reminder that slowing down is often the most beautiful way to begin. ☀️ What rituals are making your mornings feel special lately?
